Also known as the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur is one of the most important days of the Hebrew year. In this lesson, students learn about this important Jewish holiday. They also practice synonyms and antonyms and talk about New Year's rituals.

This lesson mentions refraining from drinking alcohol and refraining from having marital relations. Kapparot, a tradition involving a chicken, is also described. Teacher discretion is advised.
